Orange is the New Black is currently one of the most talked about series today, and important to Netflix’s accomplishments because Netflix was the original channel for the show to appear on. The show has not appeared on any other network and has remained a Netflix charm.
Orange is the New Black is a comedy-drama series that is based in America. The series was created by Jenji Kohan, but is based on the novel, Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, written by Piper Kerman. The show first premiered on Netflix in 2013 and has continued to be brought back every year since. The show has won over 30 awards, so far, and has been a positive impact for the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual) community.
Orange is the New Black follows the life of Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling, who is a woman in her 30’s who cannot escape her past of having associations with a drug dealer from over 10 years ago. Piper is sentenced to maximum security at a women’s prison where she must wear orange instead of her typical black suit. Piper is trying to adjust and make her way through these tough times behind bars, while others are trying to adjust to her timid and unfitting self too. The series also stars: Laura Prepon, Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne, Michael J. Harney and Kate Mulgrew, along with many other spectacular stars.
Orange is the New Black will premiere back on Netflix for Season 3 on June 12th, 2015. That means there is only less than a month away for us all to catch up on the hit Netflix show, Orange is the New Black’s other two seasons that are currently on Netflix! The best news that was released is that the show was recently renewed for a fourth season which will premiere in 2016.
